Lunch & Snacks


Each day students bring two snacks -- morning and afternoon -- plus a lunch. Microwaves and refrigerators are located in each classroom. Food needing to be heated more than a few seconds should not be brought.


How children eat has a striking impact on their health throughout adolescence and adulthood. Good nutrition is important! Parents and The Harris School partner together to teach children the importance of good nutrition. Such knowledge lays the foundation for a healthier more fulfilling life for them. 


Things to remember:

  • Limit the sugar content.
  • Limit the amount of processed foods.
  • Provide a variety of fruits and vegetables.
  • Refrain from packing carbonated sodas or high sugar drinks (like Capri Sun or Gatorade).
  • Snacks should be finger foods not something that requires cooking or heating.
