Social Skills Program

The Harris School teaches social skills using Project CLASS (Children Learning Appropriate Social Skills). The Project CLASS curriculum is creative and remarkably effective. It engages the students through a combination of music, songs and theatrical movements to accelerate the development and retention of these skills:

  • Looking at the person talking
  • Paying attention
  • Following instructions
  • Accepting “no” for an answer
  • Accepting feedback
  • Asking permission
  • Getting the teacher’s attention

In conjunction with Project CLASS, the younger participate in weekly social skills groups.
