LUNCHES AND SNACKS
Students bring two snacks (a.m. & p.m.) and a lunch to school. Microwaves and refrigerators are located in each classroom. A food item that needs to be heated more than a few seconds is not appropriate.
How children eat will have a striking impact on their health throughout adolescence and adulthood. Good nutrition is important! Parents and The Harris School are partners in teaching children the importance of good nutrition that will lay the foundation for a healthier more fulfilling life.
Things to remember:
- Limit the sugar content
- Limit the amount of processed foods
- Provide a variety of fruits and vegetables
- No carbonated sodas or high sugar drinks (like Gatorade)
- Snacks should be finger foods, not something that requires cooking or heating
